We enable you to return home as soon as you are deemed safe after surgery to recover in the privacy of your own home.
Access to our digital engagement app beginning at least 4 weeks prior to surgery and takes you up to one year after your operation.
Unlimited guidance and support via digital app and video
One pre-operative and one post-operative home visit included in the hospital package. This is to complete a home assessment and then help you prepare for your early post op period once you return home. Additional home visits can be made on your request. These are self funded and claimable from your private health fund.
We love working alongside other health professionals to help our patients achieve optimal results. We will maintain communication with your surgeon and other members of your care team (i.e additional Physio’s, Ex physiologist’s, Hospital patient partners & Personal trainers)

Why rehab at home?
Research suggests for a selected group of patients, there is no improvement in outcomes when staying in hospital for a certain period of time. The rate of adverse events remain the same if you stay or go home sooner. In fact, patient satisfaction can be boosted when you return home sooner. It is also more cost-effective leading to significant savings for the patient.
How much will it cost?
Due to the efficient nature of the protocol and overall reduction of time spet in hospital, there will be significant cost savings for private health insured patients and full fee paying patients.
For those of you whom have private health insurance, there will be a gap payment depending on your health fund and specific to your Surgeon. For those of you without private health cover that are looking to pay the full fee upfront, the Surgeons practice will need to provide a personalised quote for your surgery. Rest assured, it will be below market price.
How do i qualify for the enhanced Recovery protocol?
Many factors must be considered when selecting patients for the enhanced recovery protocol. Firstly, ensuring patient safety is our number one priority. Factors like age, how fit and mobile you are and whether or not you have any comorbidities which may put you at risk of complications. Going home is only possible if you have the support of a caregiver/partner at home to pick you up and provide aid with things like mobilising, getting dressed, cleaning and meals.
An assessment will be made by your Orthopaedic Surgeon, Practice Nurse and Physiotherapist at the clinic and a joint decision will be made in regards to your eligibility. Further tests will be done by the hospital patient partner nurse practitioner.

Will I cope as a caregiver?
For all of those caregivers out there! We will equip you with all of the information at the right time to aid in recovery. You will play an important role in the recovery timeline so we will provide you access to videos, information sheets and decision making algorythms to keep you well informed and improve your experience.
It is expected that you have a free schedule to support for the first week after surgery.
